Erin Obradovich's work includes topics of gender, nationalism, borderland (both physical and theoretical) spaces, migration and movement, cultural identity, and location. To work in Serbia is a layered experience, both personal and political, highlighting her personal borderland condition of Serbian American identity—the intricacy and conflict of her cultural heritage and self-identity. Upon her return to the U.S she has been working with the Serbian-American diaspora in Chicago. She has also worked with migrant worker communities in rural Serbia.
For Chicago Calling, Erin has been translating the work she has been doing in Serbia. Erin is collaborating with Alpha Bruton, on a project which is being performed at the Little Black Pearl Art and Design Center on October 10.
